Design 1

For my first design I produced a look which I feel is very contemporary but it also has an Elizabethan feel to it too. I wanted it to look Elizabethan still but with a modern edge.

The front of the hair would be plaited across the front of the hair line and down the sides but the plaits would look like they cross over at the front by starting one behind the other. The ends of the plait will then be brought round the back and pinned across the back of the head. The top of the head would have a lift to it but not a huge one, it will be rolled backwards and pinned on the top of the head so it gives the slight lift.

The back of the hair would have the plaits coming from the front, which would be pinned on to the back of the head and the rest of the hair will be braided down the back of the head and down to the ends of the hair. The main braid will have a ribbon going through the braid too.

I feel like this design is very modern yet Elizabethan with the braid going down the back of the neck and the bouffant on the top of the head. The braids at the front of the hair make it look more contemporary giving a little more to the look.

This hair design is very simple it has a few techniques in it though. I want to have all the make up natural keeping the attention on the hair. I want a perfect base with highlighted dewy skin and mascara, defined brows and some gloss on the lips too.

My inspiration for this look was me looking at the simple braid at the back and how it can be adapted in to something Elizabethan. I really like the look with the braid going down the back with a bouffant on the top of the head. I think its a very flattering and simple look to produce.
